Florida Snow Ball

Food/Snacks/Restaurants

We ask all who attend to please bring a snack to share with everyone. Since we do not have a large storage area at this venue, it helps if we stagger snack arrivals. It is suggested if you have a last name between:

A – G: Please bring your snacks in before Friday night’s dance.

H – N: Please bring your snacks in before Saturday’s day dances.

O – T: Please bring your snacks in before Saturday’s evening dance.

U – Z: Please bring your snacks in before Sunday’s dance.

Snacks ideas: fresh or dried fruit, nuts, chocolate, chips, popcorn, cheese, crackers, hummus, or cookies. Please bring your snacks to the concession stand area. During the dance we will provide coffee, water, and hot water (for tea). Snacks will be located outside of the gymnasium, but please refrain from bringing food onto the dance floor.

Restaurants: Some local restaurants are still open in Gulfport (the ones further from the waterfront area) like Pia’s, Stella’s, and the Drunken Taco. A list of nearby recommended restaurants with respective internet links is available here. We are working on possibly getting a food truck for Saturday, but this has not been confirmed yet.

Miscellaneous Dance Info & Requests

Quilts, Towels, and Chairs: To improve the sound in the gymnasium we are requesting quilts and beach towels to be hung around the gymnasium. If you’re able to share a quilt for this project (lightweight quilts are probably better) and will be arriving by midafternoon Friday, please contact Kathie Aagaard: 813-843-7219 or kjaagaard11@gmail.com  (for local folks we can arrange a pick up). If possible, could you also bring some outdoor seating/camp or beach chairs? Since our indoor space is limited, we can arrange for seating outside of the gymnasium or in a large pavilion area behind the gym. Please put a label with your name and phone number on any items you bring to share.

Water Bottles/Scents: Please bring your own labeled water bottle to reduce the use of plastic cups. As we have many dancers allergic to any kind of scents, we request no perfumes of any kind.

Volunteers/Buttons: Someone may be contacting you before the dance to coordinate your volunteer assignment. If you are not contacted, you can learn your volunteer assignment at registration. Please wear your name button while dancing at Snow Ball.

Map to Gymnasium: The gymnasium is at the rear of the school and accessible through a road north of the school. Here is a map link to the exact location of the dance venue parking lot. You can use this link to plot your directions to the dance: https://maps.app.goo.gl/XXW7kWnnVwyEc5ve9

Gymnasium floor: Please be sure to wear only soft soled, flat, or very low heeled dance shoes on the gymnasium floor. We will also have mats for cleaning your shoes from outside debris before entering to dance.
