Florida Snow Ball

Snow Ball 2026 is now done

and wow, was that fun!

Lisa Greenleaf & Red Case Band
Michael Karcher & Tenn. Snow Birds

Snow Ball 2026 was held again in Gulfport, FL at the Boca Ciega High School gymnasium. Our callers were Michael Karcher and Lisa Greenleaf. Our bands were Red Case Band and a last-minute, one-time collaboration of Jeremy Lekich from Turnip The Beet with substitute fiddler Brittany Haas, who played together as the Tennessee Snow Birds. (Huge thanks to Brittany for agreeing to step in the day before Snow Ball started! Of course, who wouldn’t want to come to Florida the same weekend a major winter storm was crossing the Eastern half of the United States!)

FYI, while we still don’t know the official status of the Gulfport Casino, we are anticipating that it will likely not be restored and available following the damages from Hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024. Therefore, we expect that we will likely have to plan Snow Ball 2027 for an alternate venue. If that is the case, we will hope that can be at Boca Ciega High School again and, as usual, on the fourth weekend of January.
