Florida Snow Ball
‘Twas fun, but now it’s done. Another Snow Ball is in the archives. Thanks to all of you who came to dance with us this year!
Kudos to Christine Stallings for securing this venue and to the entire TFOOTD board of directors for making this event happen following the loss of the Gulfport Casino as an active dance hall with the severe damage caused by hurricanes Helene and Milton last autumn. We do expect an eventual restoration of our long-time Gulfport Casino dance venue, though that will still take an undetermined amount of time.
As pictured above, however, we were able to have a gymnasium full of dancers with Boca Ciega High School serving as our alternate venue this year. At this point, the TFOOTD board is not sure where we will be able to host Snow Ball for 2026. However, we do have the talent secured and will be planning to open registration again in the autumn of this year. All dancers on our mailing list will receive an announcement when that registration date has been determined, probably late this summer. By that time, we’ll hope to know the status of next year’s venue as well.
In the meantime, plan to dance with us again the weekend of January 23-25, 2026 (assuming we are able to secure a venue for that weekend). Our bands will be Turnip The Beet and Red Case Band. Callers will be Michael Karcher and Lisa Greenleaf. Stay tuned!
Snow Ball 2025 Feedback
Some folks have inquired about a post-dance survey for the 2025 Snow Ball weekend. That survey is now available here: Snow Ball Survey. Your opinions and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
